The Burgh offers no shortage of ways to ring in the holiday season. Here’s a look at three family-friendly, festive events to enjoy in the City of Champions.
Peoples Gas Holiday Market
You don’t have to cross the Atlantic to enjoy a European-style holiday bazaar. Make holiday memories by snapping a free picture of your little ones with Santa Claus, or put your talents to the test at the Holiday Karaoke Contest, where you could take home the grand prize of $1,000. The festivities run daily, from Nov. 22 – Dec. 23.
Highmark First Night
Fuel your creative side with this art-centric New Year’s Eve festival. As the last hurrah for 2019, this spectacular celebration features over 150 events for revelers of all ages. With live music, ice sculptures, and a wealth of kid-friendly activities, the Highmark First Night is sure to help you start 2020 with plenty of inspiration. The event runs from Dec. 31, 2019 to Jan. 1, 2020, from 6 p.m. to midnight.
Kennywood Holiday Lights
When the holiday season rolls around, this old-fashioned amusement park becomes a dazzling winter wonderland. Boasting nearly 2 million twinkling lights and the tallest Christmas tree in The Keystone State, the Kennywood holiday display is sure to delight visitors of all ages. The park also offers festive activities, like cookie decorating, pictures with Santa, and train rides through a gingerbread village. You’ll be able to experience the magic from 5-9 p.m. on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from Nov. 22 – Dec. 22, as well as Dec. 26-30. At Shults Ford Harmarville, we’re excited to celebrate the season with our local community.
