We all know the automotive manufacturer has been opening new showrooms at a pretty high rate, but when we heard that Ford opened 88 new dealerships in one day, we were astounded! On June 19th, Ford opened the doors on 88 new showrooms in China, bringing up the grand total of Ford dealerships in China to 750 total dealerships. There is no concern of overwhelming the Chinese population with Ford dealerships either. The Blue Oval actually plans to open up another 50 in China by the end of this year. Since the population is so huge, it is actually quite surprising that there are only 750 Ford dealerships in China currently.
Over 75% of these new dealerships are located in so-called Tier 4 cities, also known as smaller towns that millions of people still live in. Ford’s strategy is to avoid the bigger areas that are already saturated with competition, and start to build their own market in the smaller, yet still profitable, areas.
“With the growth momentum we have going right now, we expect to exceed 800 dealer points in China by the end of 2014,” said Marin Burela, the CEO and president of Changan Ford.
Everyone here at Shults Ford of Harmarville is excited to see the growth and progress of this amazing automotive manufacturer and we look forward to a continued great future with Ford!
There is no doubt that a Ford enthusiast is loyal to the bone and they undoubtedly pass that loyalty onto the generations after them. High-quality vehicles coupled with Ford’s commitment to consumer satisfaction has built the brand into what it is today, but Ford has started to market to the youngest generation of them all. With the Power Wheels F-150, Ford is definitely starting the loyalty off at a young age!
While not available to consumers, the Power Wheels F-150 was spotted coming back from a series of tests in Ford’s main base for operations, Dearborn, Michigan. While the concept is pretty cool, it is not for sure whether or not this is a real thing. Could it really be a collaboration between Ford and Power Wheels? Or maybe it’s just a couple of engineers having a good time at the expense of the spy photographers who took the images. Regardless, we think it’s pretty cool and would love to see something like this hit the market in the future!
Would you like to own something like this Power Wheels F-150 for your child? At Shults Ford of Harmarville, we want to hear what you think! Sound off in the comments below!
Recently, the Bierker family was presented a Warrior Quilt by Paul Letso, one of our very own Shults Ford of Harmarville employees. Rachele Beirker entered to win the quilt for the Mother’s Day Race for the Cure and they are definitely excited to be able to display this Warrior Quilt in their home and know that people are everywhere are fighting for a cure for breast cancer..
So what exactly is a Warrior Quilt?
The Neighborhood Ford Store has partnered with the Pittsburgh Race for the Cure for the Annual Warrior Quilt Project. Warrior Quilts are made of fabric squares that are decorated at a Neighborhood Ford Store booth at the Pittsburgh Race for the Cure. The squares are filled with messages of hope and encouragement; they honor breast cancer survivors, as well as remembering loved ones who have passed. These quilts remind us all how many people breast cancer affects, but they also show us that we are doing everything we can to defeat it.
For Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, there are several quilts donated to across the United States, to hospitals, clinics, and breast cancer treatment centers.
We were so proud to be able to present a Warrior Quilt to Rachele Bierker and her family and if you would like to find out more about how you can help in the fight against breast cancer, visit the Neighborhood Ford Store booth and the Pittsburgh Race for the Cure!
It’s National Tire Safety Week! This week is the Rubber Manufacturers Association (RMA) annual tire safety week so what better to talk about than the condition of your tires?
The tires are the only part of your vehicle that makes contact with the road so making sure that they are properly kept up with is an essential tool when it comes to safety.
- Inflate- Make sure that you check your tire pressure monthly. It is hard to tell with the naked eye if a tire is low. There are manufacturer specifications that are located on the tire so that you know the exact amount of air that should be in the tire.
- Rotate- You need to rotate your tires every 5,000 miles. Tires in different locations of the car get worn differently so to keep the tires even, we rotate them for balanced ware.
- Evaluate- Check your tires regularly for signs of wear and damage. To evaluate if the tread depth to make sure that it is deep enough, insert a quarter upside down into one of the treads. If you are able to see above Washington’s head then it is time to buy new tires.
Under-inflated tires have rack up over 600 deaths and more than 33,000 injuries each year. Stop into the Shults Ford service center today to have your tires checked!
