Here’s How to Celebrate the Fourth of July in Pittsburgh
Are you looking for something to do for the Fourth of July in Pittsburgh this summer? The city is playing host to a wide range of events to celebrate America’s birthday, but here are just a few to consider:
- Celebrate America Pittsburgh!: This July Fourth celebration will take place at Point State Park, starting at noon and lasting until 10 p.m. The event is presented by the EQT Pittsburgh Three Rivers Regatta and will include entertainment on the main stage, family activities, and food — all culminating in a fireworks display at 9:35 p.m. to close out the night. - Fourth at the Fort: This free and family-friendly event is educational! Take the kids to Point State Park (you’ll already be there for the bigger celebration) for the outdoor living history program from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Reenactors from the Fort Pitt Museum will be on hand to demonstrate what life was like in the 1700s — the century of the American Revolution! - Flag Ceremony: The Fourth of July is a great time to reflect on the sacrifices so many have made to make our nation free and proud. From 8-8:30 a.m. on July 4 at the Senator John Heinz History Center, local veterans will roll out a 36-foot American Flag, recite the National Anthem, and observe a moment of silence. From all your friends at Shults Ford Harmarville, have a happy, healthy, and safe Fourth of July.
